Archaic
The visual story about a Northern village where the archaic is deeply integrated into the everyday life of people. The Russian North is a spiritual and cultural phenomenon. It is strongly connected with the land and traditions. Despite the harsh conditions, people there have learned to survive and preserve their heritage. But how long will they be able to do this in conditions of unemployment and constantly deteriorating living conditions? A living archaic culture, full of meaning, history, and symbolism –this is what we will lose when these people do not have the strength to survive on their land. The project was shot in the village of Kerchomya, Komi Republic.
